My agency enforces labor laws. We return wages to workers when their employers have shorted their paychecks, stolen their tips, of just not paid them at all. We analyze the payroll and any other pay information, interview workers, and compute back wages due. Every dollar we collect for workers generates tax dollars. Every dollar we collect is used by workers to buy groceries, pay rent, etc. When workers have nowhere else to go, they turn to my agency.
